Habitat

The Scarlet Ibis (Eudocimus ruber) is found in the coastal areas of northern South America.

Appearance

The Scarlet Ibis has bright striking orange-red plumage with black wing tips and a long-curved bill.

Natural behavior

The Scarlet Ibises only lay 2 eggs at a time. These hatch after about 20 days. The young leave the nest after a few weeks. The nests are located high in the trees.
