Social behavior

For the Red-Crowned Crane has the ‘dance’ an important meaning. As a result, this species of bird dances very extensively. This involves multiple parts, such as jumps, bends, pirouettes and running with outstretched wings. This is because with the dance they attract mates, but they also use it to strengthen social bonds and to mark their territory. Before beginning their dance, both birds will call together.
