Austria

Austria, relax with all your senses

Relax in the beautiful nature that Austria has to offer. The beautiful Alpine region, the many waterfalls and streams provide the ultimate moment of tranquility. Not only the high mountains will relax you, but also the vast Alpine meadows full of lush grass and countless species of flowers.

Beautiful landscapes

Austria is quite close to the Netherlands, but the nature looks completely different. Austria embraces itself with many beautifully overgrown mountains. During the hike to the top, you will see a splendor of green nature. Once you are at the top, you will have a breathtaking view of the landscape.

The Alps

Austria is home to Europe’s largest mountain range, the Alps. This mountain range has a width of 100 to 200 kilometers. More than 82 mountain peaks have an altitude of 4,000 meters or higher. Three-quarters of the country of Austria belongs to this mountain range. Of course, the Alps are not only in Austria, but also in Germany, France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Slovenia, and Switzerland.

In Mondo Verde, you also admire the many waterfalls and streams of the Alpine region. You will be calm by the clatter of both cascades and streams. Because of this, you will also find many dragonflies and butterflies in the summer.

Austria, a diversity of flora

Common hollyhock

Originally, the Common hollyhock (Alcea rosea) comes from Turkey. In the 16th century, Turkey exported this plant to Europe. The plant blooms in both rural and urban environments. It exists in many different color varieties.

When you plant the Common hollyhock during spring, the plant only forms leaves and will not bloom until the following year. If you sow the Common hollyhock in late summer (August-September), the plant will flower the following year.
