Rijkswaterstaat will be working on the A76 from 4 to 16 July

From 4 to 16 July, work will be carried out in three phases on the A76, between entrance (7) Simpelveld and exit (5) Nuth in the direction of Antwerp/Eindhoven. Please take closures and extra travel time into account. What does this work mean for your visit to our location?

Closures
  • From Friday 4 July 21:00 to Thursday 10 July 2025 05:00, the A76 will be closed between the Kunderberg junction and the Nuth exit (5). 
  • On Tuesday 9 July 2025 05:00 and Wednesday 16 July 2025 05:00, the A76 will on the Kunderberg and Eschen roads. 
  • The A76 will be closed between the Simpelveld exit (7) and the Ten Esschen interchange from Thursday 10 July 9:00 PM to Wednesday 16 July 5:00 AM.

Diversion routes during work on the A76

  • Diversion through traffic towards Eindhoven: Through traffic towards Eindhoven is diverted via the N281 (Keulseweg), N300 (Provincial Road), N274 (Provincial Road) via Schinveld, the L410 past Gangelt (Germany), the B56 past Selfkant and Tüddern (Germany), the N297 (Gelders Eind) and then the A2 to Eindhoven.
  • Diversion through traffic towards Antwerp:
    Through traffic towards Antwerp will be diverted via the A79 and A2.
    Please note: This diversion is not possible from Thursday 10 July 21:00 to Wednesday 16 July 05:00, when the A76 is closed between Simpelveld and the Kunderberg junction.
  • Local diversion routes:
    • From Thursday 10 July 9:00 PM to Wednesday 16 July 5:00 AM, during the closure of the A76 between Simpelveld and Kunderberg junction:
      • Traffic towards Heerlen follows a diversion via the Simpelveld exit and the N28.
      • Traffic from Heerlen can enter the A76 via the N281 at the Ten Esschen junction.
    • From Friday 4 July 9:00 PM to Thursday 10 July 5:00 AM, during the closure of the A76 between the Kunderberg junction and the Nuth exit (5):
      • Traffic from Heerlen via the N281 towards Brunssum, Nuth and the A2 can choose the exit to the Beersdalweg at the Ten Esschen junction. Then follow the route via the Breukerweg, Wijngaardsweg, Terhoevenderweg and Akerstraat-Noord to then continue via the N300.
