People with disabilities

Prepare your visit

Mondo Verde is a park situated in a hilly area, so you’ll be walking up and down the hill. The park features stairs, as well as alternative routes to avoid them. Almost all the main paths are paved, making them accessible in a wheelchair.

Attractions

Do you have a medical condition that prevents you from standing in line for a long time at an attraction? If so, you may enter many attractions through the exit. If you have a disability, you will need a special wristband. You can request one at the Reception Desk.

Mondo Verde only issues a special wristband to people who can demonstrate that they need it, such as through the Autipas, Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, or the European Disability Card, or as a wheelchair user.

Important information about the special wristband:

  • The special wristband can only be used once every 15 minutes on the same ride.
  • A special wristband allows a maximum of one user to enter the attraction. If the person with a special wristband requires an escort due to, for example, height restrictions, the escort must be an adult.

Alternative entrance facilities:

  • The exits at the attractions do not have a winding layout.
  • Physical obstacles may be present, such as stairs.
  • There is no separate exit at the Sailor & Pirate.
  • There is no separate exit at the Sky Dive.

On quiet days, such as during rainy weather, the attractions are open on a rotating basis. Because there are fewer visitors in the park, everyone has the chance to experience the attractions multiple times, even more so than on a busy day. If you want to ride an attraction but don’t see any staff at that attraction, walk to the next attractions until you see a staff member, or walk to the Alhambra and tell them which attraction you’d like to ride.

Light and sound

Due to the sound and light effects, we would like to warn visitors about the following attractions: The Pearl, Mondo Volare, Disco Drive, Havana’s Tornado, Havana Spinning Adventure, Safari Carousel, El Niño, and the Pirate Splash. It is important to note that there are sound and light effects in the attraction area, which may cause overstimulation.

Background mood music is played at the park entrance.

In the Alhambra and at the Pancake House, there is colored lighting and background mood music.

In the Tuscan Villa and near the Rice Cart, there is background mood music and lighting.

Between the Pancake House and the Disco Drive, there are stuffed animal vending machines. These produce sound and light effects.

In the China World Garden near the Great Wall, there is background music.

On the terrace near the Pirate Splash, there is background music.

Heat and moisture

The Tropical Paradise is heated and humid.

Pirate Splash, Sailor & Pirate, and El Niño are water attractions where you can get wet.

Lakes, streams, rivers, and ponds are located throughout the park.

De-stimulate

It’s not possible to de-stress in fixed spots in the park. There are quieter corners, but finding these spots depends on the day of the week.

Extra tips

Do you have noise-canceling headphones? Bring them along; they’ll make it easier to tune out the sounds if they’re too intense.

Visit Mondo Verde on a weekday outside of school holidays and public holidays for the best chance of a quieter experience.

Service dog or guide dog

Service dogs or guide dogs with the proper documentation are permitted in our park. Mondo Verde asks that you contact the Reception desk in advance via info@familieparkmondoverde.nl.

The service dog or guide dog must be wearing a special harness that indicates it is a service dog.

Service dogs or guide dogs are not permitted in the Tropical Paradise, the World Garden Australia, the Bird Paradise, or near the enclosures of the African lions and Bengal tigers (as this disturbs the animals).
